Kisah Burung Kakak Tua

Ada beberapa kisah lucu pasal burung-burung kakak tua kat opis Josh nih yang Josh nak kongsikan dengan kengkawan.

Kisah Burung Kakak Tua A:
(Citer nih disumbang oleh burung kakak tua tu sendiri, bukan citer rekaan semata-mata)
Satu petang burung kakak tua nih tido petang kat bilik tidonyer. Agaknyer memang dia letih sangat sampai tido taktau masa.

"Apalah sayang nih, abg tido kat sini ler......" jawab laki tu.

Alamak, burung kakak tua tu lupa yang dia dah kawin. Laki yang tido sebelah dia tu husband dia sebenarnyer..... KUANG KUANG KUANG....

Kisah Burung Kakak Tua B
(citer nih kisah benar jugak, diciterkan oleh burung kakak tua seekor lagi)
Satu hari burung kakak tua nih bawak keta gi buat urusan kak luar, dua ekor burung temankan (3 ekor dalam satu kete). Sekor dok depan, sekor lagi dok belakang. Semasa burung ni bawak kete, dua ekor yang lain tengah bersembang. Burung yang dok kat tempat co-pilot tu mulakan citer hangat... burung belakang membalas, sambil menghangatkan gossip dengan citer-citer yang lebih menarik... Sambil-sambil dua ekor nih gelak-gelak burung kakak tua yang bawak keta tu nak jugak masuk campur (she can't resist)... Dah puas dia cuba concentrate driving sambil dengar gossip tu tapi suara burung kat belakang tu slow sangat. Gossip-gossip hangat dan gelak-ketawa dua ekor burung tu diteruskan.... yang bawak keta tu mula frust... sebab tak dengar.

"Nih takleh jadi nih, saya kena kuatkan suara burung yang belakang tu..." pikir burung yang bawak keta tu, sambil satu tangan cuba pusing-pusing butang volume radio tu....

"E'eh, naper masih slow lagi suara tu..." sambil dia pusingkan lagi butang tu nak kuatkan volume.

Alamak, burung kakak tua baru perasan tu bukan gossip kat radio, maner boleh control suara burung kat belakang tu dengan pusing butang volume....... KUANG KUANG KUANG.....

Hari Makan Sedunia

Hari ni memang hari makan sedunia. Pagi-pagi breakfast sorang-sorang kat Pak Li. Dekat kul 11 pagi Kak Lin masuk bilik sembang-sembang. Pastu josh ajak gi makan, nak makan yang sedap-sedap. Disebabkan mood Kak Lin kureng (sesuatu berlaku kat ofis), dia ok je dengan cadangan tu. Tapi pastu tiba-tiba dia call, ada makanan special katanyer. Mintak Josh gi Lab pantry.

Memang special. Makanan di atas bukan masakan Kak Lin, bukan masakan Ja-cha-cha. Tu masakan jejaka hensem Kimie, student kita yang kerja kat lab tu. Nasi minyak, daging masak kicap, ayam goreng berempah. Sedaaaaap. Josh tambah nasi dua kali (matilah gemuk balik). Pastu ada meeting pulak kul 2pm.

Habis meeting kul 3.30pm kot. Kul 4.00pm Kak Lin call, ajak gi minum pulak. Tempat favourite Kak Lin, Kedai Kopi yang kat tepi tasik tu.

Ni lah Ja-cha-cha dan jejaka hensem Kimie. Bukan couple, wait.... belum lagi couple... wait... bukan couple tapi sesuai jadi couple... wait... betul ke?? Bukan couple lah (buat masa nih).

Nih makanan kami. Pisang goreng, cekodok goreng, keropok lekor, cucur udang. Josh order air kelapa.

Tempat nih lawa and berangin sepoi-sepoi bahasa, sesuai untuk berdating.

Hm... memang hari makan sedunia. Maaaaaaaaaaakan je kerjanyer hari nih. Pasni nak gi gym lah. Nak buang sikit lemak kat perut, banyakkan muscle kat tempat yang patut.

Breakfast Alone

Since the burung-burung kakak tua and the bini-bini orang were having training in the UK for a month, I had breakfast alone for the pass two weeks. First time in many years, my breakfast was peaceful and quiet. hehehe....

I went to Pak Li again this morning. Can't resist the 50 cents coffee offer. I ordered the rice vermicelli soup too.

With the peaceful environment and the cooling air, I can now enjoy my cup of coffee while reading my favourite lite reading. Best kan?

(Psst... jangan jeles ye Puan Tod-tod, Puan Sue-sue and Puan A).

Fifty Cents Coffee

Believe it. Pak Li is offering coffee (usually RM1.60) at 50 cents per cup throughout the month of July. It's definitely a good news to my thinning wallet.

I tried their Roti Bakar Sambal He Bee (toast with dried shrimp sambal) this morning. The aroma was appetizing. A bit salty though. I spent RM2.85 for my breakfast, instead of the usual RM4.00. I wonder if they'll offer discount for their katong laksa and golden fried rice or not..

Tea Appreciation After A Heavy Meal

After having a heavy meal, there's nothing better then some aromatic tea. We had flower tea this time.

The brewing of the tea itself was enjoyable. We can smell the refreshing aroma seconds after pouring the hot water. When brewing tea, the temperature of the water should no be boiling hot as the boiling water will spoil the aroma.

I brewed rose tea and chrysanthemum tea too, as Honey larling scared that she would not be able to sleep. The rose tea is known to have calming effects.

Ah Hock would always ask for tea every time he visit our place. Not just any tea, but chinese tea.

Honey larling can't drink tea after 5pm. So, rose tea for her.

As tea lover, I would be more then happy to serve my guests with our selected chinese tea.

Of course, a tea appreciation would not be complete without good companies. It's totally meaningless to have the tea all by myself.

Chinese tea appreciation anyone?

The Best Fish Head Curry in Bangi

I had been craving for fish head curry for quite some time. Since my wife is outstation until Saturday, I invited Honey larling and Ah Hock to join me at one of our favourite curry house in Bangi Utama shopping complex. We had not been there for a long, long time.

Their sirap-limau was just wonderful.

Here's our main dish, the yummilicious, mouth watering, taste bud awakening fish head curry. The dinner was extremely quiet after the dish was served. The mouths were too busy to talk.

We basically 'clean' the fish head, and will try every single way to make sure we did not miss any juicy yummy goodies.

The dish was disappearing fast....

And here's the left over of the gruesome feasting..

Honey larling was proud, showing her 'trophy'.

I just love the thick curry gravy. Not a single drop was wasted.

The fish head curry make me strong and healthy. No? (Pinjam Chen-chen's word)

This is still the best fish head curry we have ever had so far.

Side Walk Sucks and MarryBrown Finger Licking Good

Really, the Side Walk Cafe at Sekyen 7 Shah Alam sucks! Our original plan was to have lunch there. We ordered our drinks and food. I was praising them for the improved menu while enjoying the drinks. We waited and waited for our food. The waiting had eaten up my patience slowly. I called the waiter after waited for more then 30 minutes, inquiring about our order.

To my dismay, the kitchen did not realise our order and had not done anything. That's it, I told straight to the waiter's face, "Cancel order!". They were only TWO tables having their lunch there beside us. With such scarce crowd, was that so difficult to get the order done correctly? It sucks! I paid for the drinks and we walked off, angrily. They didn't even say sorry!

The cashier was never friendly anyway. We hereby BANNED the BINTANG SIDEWALK CAFE! (Kawan-kawan semua yg training kat UK sekarang, take note ye. Nak mengharapkan tempat cantik je, makanan ok je, tapi service teruk sangat.)

Might as well pay a visit to MarryBrown and enjoy the usual 10% discount, just two minutes walk away. Furthermore, kat sini ada swing.

I ordered the Chick-A-licious set (finger licking good), Kak Lin and Puan Ro ordered Nasi Ayam Marrybrown, and Puan Lala ordered fist and chips.

Well, the portion of chicken in the Nasi Ayam got smaller....

Good news, the Akak Manager said that they're offering students with 10% discount for a single purchase of RM15 and above. And now they're offering noodles, at only RM6.90. GRAB THEM!

Oh ya, thanks to Akak Manager for the 10% discount. I'm not a student.

Farewell Lunch with Research Assistants

My research project was officially ended two days ago. No extension was allowed even though there's still 42K left. With no choice, I had to terminate the contract of my two research assistants.

To show my appreciation for their hard work and commitment in the research, I gave them a lunch treat before they leave. I invited Kak Lin, Jaja and Kimie along. Asiari Restaurant was our choice.

These are some of the food we'd ordered: Seafood noodle (just ok), ayam percik with butter rice (the gravy was abit too sweet), hue-style beef noodle (quite good), beef vermicelli (the beef was tender), fried beef slices with chinese celery (one of my favourite).

This particular starter is very nice. Spring roll with mango.

Kak Lin posing ayu.

To Rathna and Fuzah thanks for your help and your commitment to the project. I'd tried my best to extend the research for another 6 months but I'm sorry it had not been approved. All the best to both of you.

Eeeww....

A friend sent this pic to my email. It reminds me of someone. Eeeewww.....
