First Dinner at Kota Bharu

The journey to Kota Bharu took us more then 10 hours, using the Gua Musang route. We were blocked by lorries, and slowed down by heavy down pour. Arrived KB at 9.40pm. Got the booth setup at the hall before heading for our dinner. Starved.

Since we're new here, no one actually familiar with KB. Thus searching for good food was a considerable task. We settled at a foodcourt nearby the Stadium. I ordered the nasi goreng kerabu (fried rice with raw shredded vegie) while another colleague ordered the daging masak merah (spicy red sauce stir fried beef).

The display of the nasi kerabu was interesting but the taste was somewhat disappointing. But, what the heck, it cost me only RM4. The stir fried beef was just so-so according to my colleague. The tomyam was.. erm.... disappointing as well.

There was this interesting 'misunderstanding' due to difference in dialect. I ordered my favourite drink the timun limau nipis, they gave me watermelon with lime. I told the kakak I wanted the cucumber drink with lime and she adviced, "lain kali adik mintak timun batang, bukan timun." Lorr.... mane Josh tau tembikai dipanggil timun kat sini.

We cleaned up our plate in no time.

We checked in to Grand Riverview Hotel at approximately 11.20pm. Dropped dead on bed till the next day.

that is what i like about kelantan..makanan masih murah murah walaupun petrol dah naik harga..dulu pernah jumpa NIk Aziz sekali waktu pergi Kelantan.. Nice and humble man. Dia layan semua orang tak kisah apa parti pun dengan senyuman ..sejuk hati.

if I am not mistaken, the East Coast guys call Tembikai/Semangka as "Timun Cina"... Auntie tuh tengok muka Josh yg mintak "timun limau nipis", terus dia ingat Tembikai kut.... hehehe...

[danial] tak sempat lah gi cuba laksam, the schedule was packed. Pasal air timun tu, I paksa jugak akak buat ikut yang saya nak. But the taste was not so nice.
Bahasa kelatan i taktau sangat, cuma tau minyok cak sipuk je. hehehehe..

[syukur] a'ah, makanan memang murah kat situ. Setuju Nik Aziz tu peramah, my KB friends also said the same thing.

[kingkong] aik? Josh muka macam timun ke? kih kih kih... The dialect was different but very interesting lah.

[Bud] Aiyoo... jangan pikir yg bukan-bukan pasal timun batang tu.. ;-P
I think I'm older then her lah. Dia patut panggil saya abe.

[inah] nasi kerabu ke, nasi dagang ke, laksam ke... tanak yg KB punya, nak jugak Inah masakkan. Boleh?

[Ain-ain] Memang diaorang asyik nak beli tudung, baju ngan kain je.. Josh nak beli barang kaca seperti pyrex dan corelle, tapi tak banyak kat Rantau Panjang. Kelantan memang unik. Ramai aweks cun.. ooops... hehehe

[Hairie] Lain kali kalo Josh pergi lagi Josh cuba laksam tu. But the food in KB was superb (except yang kat food court ni lah)

[danial] Teringat abg tu buat citer.. kan? kan?

[beruang madu] o, ye ke? Bilik tu memang luas, but bilik yg Josh dapat tu berbau hapak, pastu view dia x cantik sangat...
makanan Kelantan memang banyak yang manis-manis, sampai bubur nasi dia pun rasa manis.. pelik.

[Putu] Nasi kerabu is one of my favourite Putu. But nasi goreng kerabu yg makan kat KB aritu kureng.

Sekali-sekala je Josh makan makanan superb. Hari-hari biasa makan nasi putih cecah kicap sajork. hehehehe

Mungkin lidah dia orang dah macam tu kot, kalo x manis x lalu makan.
