The newborn baby girl of my wife's brother is now one month old. It's a custom for the Chinese to celebrate the full-moon (one month old) of the baby. It also signify the end of the mother's one month confinement.
The parents of the baby would pack some goodies (or purchase from shops) as gifts and send them to the relatives and friends, as an official announcement of the arrival of the newborn. The goodies would include roasted (or steam) chicken, eggs (dyed red), and some kuih 'ang-ku' (a tradisional cake). Some even to the extent of throwing a full-moon banquet at restaurant or hotel.
For us, we had a simple family get-together dinner at home. Simple dishes were prepared. Among my favourite, sweet and sour prawn, mix vegie and spring rolls, all home made. Yummy...
I was over-stuffed with food. Bulat lerr saya nih.
