The Answer for the 'Cuba Teka' Game

Tadaaaaa........ it's our cooking hood!

This is the close-up shot of the control panel. There're four buttons: Light, Hard, Soft, Light. The chinese word for 'hard' suppose to be translated as 'Strong', while 'soft' should be translated to 'Weak'. 
So, there you go! It's our cooking hood in our kitchen. Wahaza, don't be surprised, we brought back many things from China! Some of them are so big that you won't believe it! Dining table, display cabinet, marble kitchen bench top to name a few... we even brought back 150kg of garden pebbles! hehehehe

Danial and Jack, shame on you both. You both got the correct answer because you both had seen the hood!

I thought of giving away my X-trail for those who get the right answer. Well, I guess I'll save it for another game then. Kah kah kah kah kah....... (evil laugh).

Cuba Teka

We bought this item from China 5 years ago. The first time I saw the labels on the switches, I can't stop myself from laughing.

It's been 5 years now, I still laugh seeing these labels.

Erm..... HARD??? SOFT??? What are those refer to?

Burger King in Shah Alam

Burger King is now available in Shah Alam! We tried it out yesterday.
The burung-burung kakak tua were very excited. "Jom gi makan King Burger (not Burger King)" said Pn Sue-sue.
The Whopper Jr set was on promotion. A Whopper Jr burger, french fries, soft drink, with a free Sundae (with choc or caramel topping) at RM9.90.
Semua senyum lebar!  But Pn Tod-tod claimed that it's not so good. "Saya lidah kampung, nak lauk kampung je." Maklumlah, burung ni dibesarkan bersama dengan ayam-ayam kampung. Lalu makan biji jagung je.

O ya, they give away free 'crown'. Everyone took one.
Sedaaaap. Burger King anyone?

Two Graduations In a Weekend

It was a coincident that two separate graduation ceremonies of two institutions were held over the last weekend, and I was so happened to got involved. One was fun, the other was boring.

Saturday night: Kindergarten Graduation Ceremony
Since I'm a board member of the kindergarten under our church, I was invited to attend their Graduation Ceremony and to give away prices to the students. The children were like angels, and it was fun to see them preforming dances, singing and so on.





Sunday Morning: Another Graduation

It's the convocation of the institution I'm working in. I woke up at 5.30am  and started my journey at 5.45am. Drove two hours to reach the graduation hall, around 120 km away from my home. Luckily they serve breakfast for the academic staff. (kalo tak, sure Josh pengsan dalam dewan).

There's someone that I don't really fancy to meet. She's a person known to be very arrogant, unfriendly, wasteful and bossy. She hardly smile. So, this photo tells the story..

Though the ceremony was boring, but I was very proud to see my students receiving their scrolls.

Pertandingan Koir Sekolah Rendah Peringkat Kebangsaan 2008

My two nieces (daughters of my 4th elder sister) who're staying in Labuan came to KL recently as their school was among the finalist for the national choir competition for the primary schools. I was excited. 

Equipped with my camera and tele-lens, my wife and I attended the event in Putrajaya. We were quite late and the hall was full, so we got the back seat, around 50 meters from the stage.

It was my first time witnessing such competition. I was in total surprise when the children did their presentations. Their voices were so harmonious and heavenly! There were 14 teams in the competition.


This one is my nieces' team. The eldest niece is the one tallest in the third row while the younger one is in the middle of the front row, right in front of the mic.

My nieces (the two with peace sign from the right) and their team members pose for the camera. 
Their performance was great, but they didn't manage to get any price. All in all, it was a good experience for me. I'm very proud of my nieces.

BAN JM Beriani

For those who had contributed in giving opinions in my previous entry, i would like to offer my sincere thanks. The verdict is clear:

BAN JM BERIANI RESTAURANT!

To double check on how other restaurants offer their nasi beriani, I went to a restaurant in Bangi last Saturday. Danial's larling belanja. (Sorry Danial, I date your larling without your permission. hehehehe)

This was mine: Nasi beriani+mutton+fried long beans+fried bitter gourd.
And Honey larling's: White rice+mutton+fried long beans.
Together with a fried chicken drumstick, a saucer of fish curry gravy, a glass of sirap limau and a glass of hot lemon tea, costing us only RM14.90 all together.

But the best thing was, Honey larling belanja!!!
See! JM Beriani's price was too unreasonable!

Opinion Pleaseeee...

Ladies and gentlemen, I need your opinion. To begin with, let me intro a bit. We went for lunch at TESCO Shah Alam just now. Went to this restaurant, first time.

Who were there? My colleagues, among them are Pn Tod-tod, Pn. Lala, Pn Nini, Ms ReenReen, Ms Lialia, and of course, me.

We looked at the menu, ordered and waited for the food. The food came in a few minutes. But the food was shocking... I was dumb folded. 
This condiment-less, vegie-less, papadam-less Nasi Beriani Daging.... look sooooo different from the menu, and it's priced at RM10.40. Is this expensive or reasonable? Opinion pleaseee...
Then came the drinks. Orange cordial and ice lemon tea, with full glass of ice cubes. Priced at RM2.00.
Worst, the cordial was too sweet and basically tasteless. Ms. ReenReen abandoned the drink half way.
My hot lemon tea, the tea was so thin, it seems like they brew a sachet of tea leaves into a huge barrel. Tasteless. Worst, it taste like thin tea with a few drops of lime. Blunt. So, ladies and gentlemen, will you come back to this restaurant? Opinion pleaseeeee.....
My body sign language in the above pic was clear. With the similar amount of money spent in this restaurant (right) offering only nasi beriani (really, it's NASI beriani) and some drinks, I would rather spent the similar amount in the Chicken Rice Shop (left). We had lunch at CRS yesterday, we got stewed beef noodles, BBQ chicken, rice, bean sprout, pie tee, desserts and drinks.
So, ladies and gentlemen, should I give another chance to this NASI beriani restaurant? Opinion pleaseeeee.....

Vivian my niece

My wife and I visited my brother's family during raya holiday recently. I was delighted to see my brother's daughter, Vivian, running and busy bodying around the house. The first entry about Vivian was posted in November last year.

Vivian is very generous in giving away her sweet smile. Probably that's why she's adorable. Everyone love to 'get connected' with her. She would even smile to strangers. But behold, you can't touch her nor hold her for she would cry her lung out. Her life is encircled between my brother, sister-in-law and the nanny. This explained her shyness.

At her age (one and a half years old), she's just like any other children, curios in anything. My camera caught her attention. To be able to touch and hold the camera, she would 'trade' he pride and allow me to hold her and she would sit on my lap. Cute eh?

We went to a restaurant in the evening. The food were superb and cheap! A meal for 7 adults and 2 children costed only RM120. Cheaaaaap. That's why I was smiling, for the dinner was on me.

Me and my wife had always wanted to have our own children. I guess the time hasn't come. But we do believe that our dream will be granted in God's time.

Simple Dinner

As weekends are always busy for me and wife, dinner got to be simple. We had this simple grilled salmon recently.


Two pieces of salmon: RM20,
Six prawns: RM5,
Vegie for the salad: Free (a friend brought it from Cameron Highland)

Lightly grills salmon, stir-friend prawn, and baby butterhead lettuce salad. I think it's healthier then this one by Danial, cause it got greens. hehehe..
