Fish Head Curry @ Bangi Utama

When we talk about fish head curry, no other restaurant can beat this one at Bangi Utama. Many friends had tried it and gave the same comment. Even Abg Bear pun dah pernah makan kat sini. Ah Hock, Honey larling, Danial and me had dinner here last Saturday.

The tempting, salivating, alluring and seductive fish head curry.... ooooo........

The meal would be imbalance without some vegie.

And of course, the curry goes well with naan bread. We ordered the cheese naan, kasmiri naan and plain naan. Yummyyyyy!

Danial and larling enjoying their dinner, while Ah Hock is abit shy that night.

Fish head curry anyone??

Sri Melaka Restaurant @ Amcorp Mall.

A few bloggers decided to have a dinner together last week. The venue was at the Sri Melaka Restaurant, situated at the first floor of Amcorp Mall. It's the first time for me to set my feet there.

Upon meeting the bloggers, we were presented with this gift (referred as 'penaik nafsu' by Beruang madu, courtesy of Kingkong.

These menu were my favourite!
1. The Siakap asam pedas. Rated at 9/10.

2. The Kapitan Chicken. Rated at 9/10 too.

3. The Sotong sambal petai. A solid 9/10 for this one too.

The people:
1. Beruang Madu a.k.a Abang Bear

2. Dr. Shah.

3. Wahaza Extra.

4. Johan a.k.a. KingKong.

5. Imran a.k.a. MIM.

6. Danial Ma.

7. Ah Josh the budak Cina muka Melayu.

Everyone craved for dessert after the sumptuous dinner. We walked over to this place for some root beer.

More photos and stories can be found in Beruang Madu and Dr. Shah's blog.

Melaka Trip - The Melaka Zoo

My wife and I went to Melaka on the 2nd Raya. Mr. Wan and family joined in too. My initial plan was to pay a visit to my 2nd brother's family but since Mr. Wan suggested us to visit the Melaka Zoo, we went there after a short lunch at my brother's place.

I must say the Melaka Zoo is much better managed as compared to the Zoo Negara, and more conducive for the animals to stay there. Below are some pictures that I had taken at the zoo. The entrance was adorned with parrots of various colours, shapes and sizes. They were a hit to the children and adults alike.

And there were some primates.

The zebras roam in a vast land.

This is the famous seladang, an endangered species in Malaysia.

The giraffes were amazingly cute and friendly. Somehow they even know how to line themselves according to height, hehe.

The stars of the zoo, the tiger. The crowd swarmed around the enclosure just to have a glimpse of this magnificent animal.

Other animals were otters, eagles, tortoises, pelicans, swans, monkeys, chimps, and many others.

We spent 3 hours there but only sufficient to cover 50% of the zoo. Unfortunately, the zoo close at 6.00pm and we got to leave, heavy heartedly.

More pics coming up. The FUNNY pics of animals.

Tambi's Birthday

It's Christopher a.k.a Tambi's birthday on 2nd Oct. Since everyone was busy on that day, we celebrated the birthday last night instead. To add surprise to the occasion, Mrs. Wan a.k.a. Betty's parents who'd just came back from New Zealand joined the celebration.

It's Tambi's 18th birthday (why everybody celebrates 18th birthday every year?? beats me). His wife bought a yummy lemon cheese cake.

The cake was marvelous. The lemon fragrant was mesmerizing.

I had two slices. Not because I was greedy, just that I had the responsibility (read: urge) to help them clear up the food. hehehe

A simple celebration, but was fun to have the fellowship with church members.

Shui Jiao (水饺) Lunch on 1st Raya

Since it's 1st Raya holiday, we thought of having our very own 'Raya get-together' lunch. We bought some shui Jiao wrappings and some fillings (minced meat, kucai, onion, carrot, ginger, eggs, corn flour) for the occasion. I forgot to snap the photos of shui jiao making, sorry.

The shui jiao needed to be boiled for a few minutes before consuming them.

Mrs. Wan proudly showing the well boiled shui jiao.

We then arranged them on the plate.... ooooo..... so tempting.

Then we made our own pan mee dough, flatten them and pinched them into small pieces and boiled them with boiling water. Added them into the pumpkin soup and tadaaa..... our very own home made meal.

Those present (left to right): Jesse boy, Mr. Wan, Ms. Betty (Mrs. Wan's cousin), my wife, me, and Mrs. Wan.

It was a nice way to spend the holiday.
